Art in the Wild
Art in the Wild is an outdoor experimental art event, it welcomes all mediums (visual, theatre, music, performance, installation) and happens at dusk and in the cover of darkness.
Influenced by “Theatre in the Bush” and the desire to present visual and performance art in unique ways, we created Art in the Wild. We aim to provide a creative outlet for local artists to test new ideas and share original work. We are focused on providing a professional space to showcase artists of the North and connect other artists to it.
2020 was our first iteration of the event during covid times. Groups traveled in small numbers from the Rotary Wheel into the Flin Flon Campground to explore original work. Everyone participated on a volunteer basis out of the love for making art.
2023 was the first year to receive funding from Manitoba Arts Council to begin paying our artists professional rates for their original creations as well as support people.
In 2024 we expanded our event to bring in regional artists, from Saskatchewan and Manitoba as well as one national artist who did free workshops the week prior and a performance at the event.
In 2025, we partnered with Creighton Rec with support from SK Arts for an “Urban” Art in the Wild on Creighton Main St. This is the first year we are able to offer the event as a free public evening for all to enjoy.
